Volunteers

Over 1,500 volunteers gave up their free time and came to help with the first Brighton Marathon and enabled us to pull off our event safely and effectively. The volunteer support was critical to the event and to the runners on the day, and this has been acknowledged and praised on many blogs, websites , news articles and letters. Our 2010 volunteers had a great time and we are so grateful too them!

"It was great to be able to help with the event and the small part we played. If you are running the event next year please count us in as helpers again."

"I just wanted to say thanks for giving me the opportunity to help manage what was a very busy zone 4. The whole event was fantastic and the crowds were great."

"Just a quick line to say what a brilliant day I had yesterday with the first Brighton Marathon. It was an action packed 12 hours. My hands are still a little sore after hours of clapping and opening water bottles but what a great memory. Please count me in for next year!"

"We just want to say a big Thank You for letting us volunteer at the Brighton Marathon. What a wonderful day everyone had. We certainly enjoyed every moment. All the people we met and the runners were lovely people. Please keep us in mind for next year’s marathon."

For 2011 our volunteer team is going to be bigger and better and that is why we will be recruiting 2000 volunteers for Race Day on Sunday April 10th 2011

Being a Brighton Marathon volunteer doesn’t just mean meeting up on the day; this year there will be monthly email communication, informative training sessions and a feeling that you really are a part of the wider team.

Registration for volunteers will open in September 2010 but should you want more information in the meantime please contact Tracey Allen – Head of Community and Volunteers at tracey@brightonmarathon.co.uk

Be proud and play a part in our amazing day, these guys did !
