There are a number of ways you, your friends, family and colleagues can be a part of the Brighton Marathon Weekend with Team Brighton.

Below is a full list of event weekend volunteer opportunities. Please click to reveal more information about each role.

Baggage Team

We require a strong and energetic team to support us with the Brighton Marathon runner baggage. Runners will drop off a kit bag at the start of the Brighton Marathon and BM10k at Preston Park. The bags are then transported on a series of vehicles to the Finish Area where they are to be sorted, ready for runners to collect once they cross the finish line. As well as reuniting runners with their bags, we need a helpful, friendly team to support the runners and congratulate them on their running achievement.

As well as keeping your area safe, we are looking for a team to support and cheer our runners on through their journey.

Whilst a long day (some longer than others, depending on where you select), we promise an inspiring and exciting day!

Here there will be opportunities for runners and supporters to seek event information, take part in one of our partner health and fitness classes, purchase sportswear and official merchandise, get a pre-race sports massage, all whilst being entertained by some of our local bands and DJs.

We require a team of volunteers to join us each day to help with way-finding, providing event information and assisting with race pack collection. On Race Day (Sunday 9th) you may also be asked to support runners once they have crossed the finish line; handing out goody bags, foils and medals!

Finish Team

We require an enthusiastic team to assist us with pre-event set up and on Race Day in the finish area.

This is the biggest team at the event, requiring the longest shift from our volunteers but the reward is great when you get to welcome thousands of 10k and marathon runners across the finish line. PLEASE NOTE that working in the finish area does not automatically mean you will be handing out finisher’s medals.
