Event Details
This seminar follows on from the highly successful first marathon seminar and training held in January 2011. The keynote speakers at the seminar on 14th January 2012 will be Luciano Gigliotti and Malcolm Brown. Gigliotti is best-known as coach to Italy's two most successful distance runners Gelindo Bordin and Stefano Baldini. Bordin won the Olympic Marathon title in 1988 and Baldini did the same 16 years later in Athens. Malcolm Brown, a former UK National Endurance Coach, is now working closely with the Brownlee brothers and the British triathlon team in training for London 2012. There will be an opportunity to ask questions to the speakers at the end of the presentations. Athletes and coaches staying overnight are also invited to take part in a group tempo run on Brighton seafront on Sunday morning. The aim of this session is to encourage athletes preparing for spring marathons by providing a good group training environment. Split times and water/drinks will be provided on the traffic-free course. The event which is being supported by England Athletics is being coordinated by former international marathon runner Richard Nerurkar who works with Brighton Marathon.
